2021 Olympic Bronze medalist, David Nyika is a New Zealand professional boxer. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at both the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as competing at the 2017 and 2019 World Boxing Championships.

“Health and medicine has been a huge part of my life and upbringing. My mother (physiotherapist) and father (pharmacist) share a combined 60+ years of experience in the industry.

Through my sport I have been fortunate to learn and work with some of the world’s best medical professionals (HPSNZ).

My fiancé (25) was recently treated for a stage 3 Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma. This has sparked an intense feeling of responsibility to help make New Zealand Healthy.
